PHYSICAL EDUCATION
As a result of the changes in the California State P.E. Standards, the SLVHS P.E. policy for 2007-08 has been adjusted in the following ways:
- All students graduating Class of 2010 and 2011 will complete P.E. Course 1 (9th grade) and P.E. Course 2 (10th, 11th or 12th grade), worth 10 credits each, in order to graduate.
- PE 9 continues to focus on team sports. PE Course 2 focuses on individual progress through a variety sports class, which includes activities like weight training, aquatics, jazzercise, and individual sports.
- P.E. Course 2 is recommended for the sophomore year but may be completed during the junior or senior year.
- Tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders earning 2.5 credits per sports season may apply those credits to their elective credits only. Sports credits are not applied to P.E. credits.
ALL PE CLASSES ARE CO-ED
